It is super clever and witty! I think it is the funniest YA book I have read all year. This book is the best thing that ever happened to me. So I was like I HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK and Sir, am I glad I did. Then the movie came out in the Redbox, and I just couldn’t wait so I watched it, and I LOVED it. My Thoughts: This book was THE BOMB, I can’t even talk about it…BUT I WILL!! I was first supposed to read The Duff for Readalongs with April. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she’s falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone. It turns out Wesley isn’t such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Eager for escape, Bianca throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with him. She’s also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush, who calls Bianca the Duff–the designated ugly fat friend–of her crew.īut things aren’t so great at home and Bianca, desperate for a distraction, ends up kissing Wesley. Synopsis: Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper may not be the prettiest girl in her high school, but she has a loyal group of friends, a biting wit, and a spot-on BS detector.
